On the mountainous continent of Nelwë, the old elementalist tradition has lived on. The invention of the steam engine has shattered the former social order and created true industrial kingdoms. Quickly tired of the abuse from the scientist societies, certain populations rejected all civilisation altogether, turning to the power of nature.

Profiting from the battles that afflict the people of Nelwë, unknown evil forces attack the magic places to appropriate their power. A refugee from one of these raids, is going to put himself on the way of the mysterious assailants. First for personal vengeance, then to do his duty to help the kingdom of Egreïd and its capitol Silver Fall – a kingdom over which he could aspire to the throne if he so desires.
